Khoo
Swee Chiow Khoo Swee Chiow is known as Singapore's first professional adventurer, having scaled Mount Everest in 1998 and being the first Southeast Asian to complete the Seven Summits in 2000, amongst other commendable feats. In 2001, Khoo quit his full time job at Singapore Airlines to chase another of his dreams by attempting to ski to the North Pole. Although he did not succeed the first time, he persevered the following year, and after 45 days, reached the North Pole. Khoo is now the first Southeast Asian and the fourth person in the world to complete The Adventure Grand Slam. Khoo's next challenge in March 2004 is to scale Mount Everest without oxygen. If he succeeds, he will not only be the first Southeast Asian to scale the mountain twice, but he will also join the select climbers worldwide to have completed the climb without oxygen aid. Outside
his expeditions, Khoo shares his experience through motivational talks
to audience from schools to government agencies and corporations. One
of his powerful messages is "If I can climb Mount Everest, so can
